Media Player for Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)
To stream live TV on a Samsung Smart TV you need a player app and a playlist from your own provider. IPlayerTV is the player: install it on the TV, pair it with a 6-digit code, add your M3U URL or Xtream Codes login, and your channels appear.
Every device gets its own 7-day free trial, and no card is required to start it. Access is per device, so pairing a second TV starts its own trial rather than sharing the first one.

Neither route is open yet for Samsung Smart TV. Everything else on this page — pairing, playlists, how the app behaves — is already accurate, so it is worth reading before the app lands.

- The TV connected to the internet

Setting it up
Get the app onto the TV
Use whichever of the two routes at the top of this page is open — Samsung TV Apps when the listing is live, or the .wgt we host, installed in Developer Mode. The app ends up in the Apps row either way.
Open the app and note the pairing code
The first time IPlayerTV opens on your Samsung TV it shows a 6-digit pairing code and a QR code, with a countdown. The code stays valid for about 15 minutes, and the app keeps checking on its own — once you finish the next step it continues by itself.
Enter the code on iplayertv.com/tv/pair
On your phone or computer, go to iplayertv.com/tv/pair and sign in (or create an account). Type in the code. You can also scan the QR code with a phone camera, which opens the same page with the code already filled in.
The Samsung TV picks up the pairing within a few seconds — there is no need to restart the app.
Add your playlist
IPlayerTV is a player, not a content provider — it ships with no channels. On the dashboard, add the playlist you already have from your provider: either an M3U URL, or an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password).
The playlist is imported once and cached against your account, so the app opens quickly afterwards rather than re-downloading a large file every time.
Start watching
Back on the Samsung TV, your channels, films and series appear in the app. Progress, favourites and the last channel you watched are stored on your account, so they follow you to any other device you pair.
Why the Samsung build plays video differently
Tizen exposes a native player (`avplay`) that runs on the TV's own hardware decoder, and the Samsung build uses it rather than the browser's HTML5 video element. This is not a cosmetic choice: on Tizen the HTML5 decoder ignores mid-playback audio-track switching, so a channel with multiple language tracks would appear to have the setting but never actually change language.
Using the native player means audio switching works, and it also means video is drawn on a hardware plane behind the page — which is why the app takes care to keep menus and overlays above it correctly.
Samsung and LG are the same app
The Samsung and LG clients share almost every line of code. Only a handful of files differ — how the hardware device id is read, and which player back end is used — and those differences are expressed as capability flags rather than platform checks scattered through the screens.
The practical effect for you is that a fix or feature lands on both TVs at the same time instead of one lagging behind the other.
Installing the .wgt by hand
Tizen will install a .wgt you supply, but it insists the package be signed with a Samsung certificate that names your specific television. That means the generic file below is not enough on its own — you install Tizen Studio, generate a certificate tied to your TV, re-sign the package with it, and push it over the network. It is the most involved sideload of any platform we support, and it is worth waiting for the store listing unless you have a reason not to.
1.Turn on Developer Mode on the TV
Open Apps from the home row, then press 1 2 3 4 5 on the remote. A Developer Mode panel appears. Switch it on, and type in the IP address of the computer you will install from — the TV only accepts pushes from that address. Restart the TV.
2.Install Tizen Studio with the TV extension
Download Tizen Studio from developer.tizen.org and, in its Package Manager, add the "TV Extensions" — the base install cannot talk to a television without them.
3.Create a Samsung certificate for your TV
In Tizen Studio open the Certificate Manager and create a Samsung certificate profile (not a Tizen one). It asks you to sign in with a Samsung account and to pick the TV, which is how the DUID gets baked into the distributor certificate.
4.Connect to the TV and install the .wgt
Add the TV by IP in the Device Manager, then install from a terminal. The target name is whatever Device Manager listed the TV as.

5.Pair it with your account
The app appears at the end of the Apps row. Open it and follow the same 6-digit pairing as the store build — the setup steps further down this page apply unchanged.
