Xtream Codes Player: How the Login Works and When to Use It
An Xtream Codes login is a server address plus a username and password, rather than a single long URL. The player asks the server for the channel list, the categories and the guide as separate requests, instead of downloading one flat file.
Where a provider offers both, the Xtream login usually produces a better-organised library — real categories, series grouped into seasons and episodes, and a guide that lines up with the channels.

Setting it up
Collect the three values
Your provider gives you a server address (often including a port), a username and a password. All three are needed; a server address alone is not enough.
Add them to your account
Sign in at iplayertv.com, open the dashboard, choose the Xtream option and enter the three values.
Open it on any paired device
Every paired device uses the same login automatically.
Why Xtream often looks better than the same provider's M3U
Because the structure is requested rather than inferred. With an M3U file the player only knows what the group-title attribute happens to say, so films, series and live channels can end up in one long list. An Xtream server answers separate questions — give me the live categories, give me the series, give me this series' episodes — so the app can build a real library.
This is also why resume positions and episode ordering tend to work better: the server supplies episode and season numbers explicitly instead of leaving the player to guess them from a filename.
The credential trade-off
An Xtream login is a username and password to a service you are paying for. Treat it like any other credential: do not post it in forums or screenshots, and be wary of any app that asks you to hand it to a third party rather than storing it on your own account.
