Media Player for Roku

Roku does not play playlists on its own — it needs a player channel, and you need a playlist from your provider. IPlayerTV is that player. Add the channel to your Roku, pair it with a 6-digit code, add your playlist, and your channels appear.

Every device gets its own 7-day free trial, and no card is required to start it. Access is per device, so pairing a second TV starts its own trial rather than sharing the first one.

What you need

  • Any Roku streaming player, Roku Streaming Stick or Roku TV
  • The device connected to the internet
  • An M3U playlist URL or Xtream Codes login from your provider

Setting it up

1

Add the channel to your Roku

Use whichever of the two routes at the top of this page is open — the Roku Channel Store when the listing is live, or the sideload package we host, uploaded to the Roku from a browser. Both put the same channel on the device.

2

Open the app and note the pairing code

The first time IPlayerTV opens on your Roku it shows a 6-digit pairing code and a QR code, with a countdown. The code stays valid for about 15 minutes, and the app keeps checking on its own — once you finish the next step it continues by itself.

3

Enter the code on iplayertv.com/tv/pair

On your phone or computer, go to iplayertv.com/tv/pair and sign in (or create an account). Type in the code. You can also scan the QR code with a phone camera, which opens the same page with the code already filled in.

The Roku picks up the pairing within a few seconds — there is no need to restart the app.

4

Add your playlist

IPlayerTV is a player, not a content provider — it ships with no channels. On the dashboard, add the playlist you already have from your provider: either an M3U URL, or an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password).

The playlist is imported once and cached against your account, so the app opens quickly afterwards rather than re-downloading a large file every time.

5

Start watching

Back on the Roku, your channels, films and series appear in the app. Progress, favourites and the last channel you watched are stored on your account, so they follow you to any other device you pair.

Roku TVs and Roku sticks behave the same

Whether Roku OS is built into your TV or plugged into it on a stick makes no difference to the app — it is the same channel and the same pairing flow. If you replace the stick later, pair the new one and your playlist, favourites and progress are already there.

Installing the .zip by hand

Straightforward
About 10 min
.zip hosted by us

Roku has the friendliest sideload of the lot: a hidden remote sequence turns on a small web server on the device, and you upload the package to it from any browser on the same network. No computer software to install and nothing to sign.

1.Turn on Developer Mode with the remote

From the Roku home screen press, in order: Home three times, Up twice, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right. A developer settings screen appears.

Accept the agreement, set a password you will remember, and let the device restart. Write down the IP address it shows — that is where you upload the file.

2.Open the device in a browser

On a computer or phone on the same Wi-Fi, go to http://<the IP from step 1>. Sign in with the username "rokudev" and the password you just set.

3.Upload the package

Choose the .zip you downloaded from this page and press Replace (or Install, on a Roku with nothing sideloaded). The channel opens on the TV within a few seconds.

4.Pair it with your account

The channel shows a 6-digit code on the TV. Enter it at iplayertv.com/tv/pair and your playlist, favourites and progress are there — the setup steps below apply exactly as written.

Frequently asked questions

IPlayerTV does not provide, host, resell or index any channels, and it comes with no content of any kind. You supply a playlist you are entitled to use. If you do not already have one, this app is not where you get it.

You need any second device with a browser — a phone is fine. The Roku shows the code; you enter it at iplayertv.com/activation on the phone.
